On October 12, Falling in Reverse will be hitting New Zealand shores for their first headline show as part of their Australasian ‘Count Rockula’ Tour. The influential Metalcore outfit will be playing at The Powerstation for one night only.
Metalcore and its offshoots are a polarising genre. To some, it’s a refreshing new take on Metal, while others see it as the edgy child of Pop Punk and Glam Rock. Falling in Reverse is no different. The Group’s founder and vocalist, Ronnie Radke, is a troubled artist who seems to be always embroiled in controversy and/or legal issues. Loved, hated, ridiculed, admired, Falling In Reverse frontman Ronnie Radke is a rare rock n’ roll provocateur whose unpredictability and reckless honesty make him equal parts hero and villain, depending on whom you ask.
The Band’s latest album, Just Like You, is a reflective piece, filled with heart-wrenching lyrics about suddenly stolen family members, old, decaying friends and the search for redemption. It’s not all doom and gloom, Radke addresses his own divisiveness with the album’s title track, featuring the admission“I am aware that I am an asshole.”
Falling In Reverse is an intense and uncompromising experience. Their pioneering Metalcore crunch combined with their Satriani inspired shred and raw charisma, it’s easy to see why they’re the reigning kings of their Genre. In 2014, only Motörhead legend Lemmy edged out Radke on Kerrang!’s list of the 50 Greatest Living Rockstars in the World, a lineup that included the likes of Slash, Steven Tyler and Ozzy Osbourne.
