Netflix’s upcoming series Lemony Snicket’s A Series Of Unfortunate Events could be promoted as much as Disney/Pixar’s Frozen and it would still live up to the hype.

Based on the beloved book series written by pessimistic and charmingly empathetic Lemony Snicket, Netflix is making the excellent decision to bring to series to life again. The last adaptation was the well-received 2004 film with Jim Carrey playing the despicable Count Olaf.

The Netflix series sees Patrick Warburton as Lemony Snicket, who is appropriately morose and gloomy as the narrator of these dark tales. He may be the only one in the trailer, but we also catch a gleeful remark from Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris).

We have a teaser trailer and the first trailer now, but for the most part, the TV interpretation remains a mystery. However, with comedians Neil Patrick Harris and Patrick Warburton as two of the leads, it is likely that it will follow in the film’s footsteps and be hilariously satirical with only mildly dark undertones. Put it on your Netflix wish-list, it is going to be a good one.
