Queens of the Stone Age last rocked New Zealand when they played Vector Arena alongside Nine Inch Nails in 2014. This time, they’re back for a solo headlining show at Auckland’s Logan Campbell Centre on July 13th.
The band will kick off the Australasian leg of the tour with Auckland’s 18+ show, before heading on to Australia four three more – even dropping by the often forgotten Northern Territory – as well as headlining this year’s Splendour in the Grass festival in Byron Bay, alongside acts such as The XX, LCD Soundystem, and Haim.
With the announcement comes a tease of something new that might be heading our way shortly, which hopefully means our show will be filled with new material, and new ways to rock out.
“Deadly and debonair, QOTSA – led by founding member/frontman Josh Homme (guitar/vocals), with Troy Van Leeuwen (guitar), Dean Fertita (guitar/kets), Jon Theodore (drums/percussion), and Michael Shuman (bass) – having toured both countries multiple times to sell-out crowds, they are no strangers to Australian and New Zealand fans.”
With raving reviews following their Vector Arena show, and international agreement that QOTSA are one of the best rock bands if our time, tickets to this more intimate affair are bound to fly out of the door.
‘Some bands are better than others. Chord by chord, line by line, beat by beat, hook by glorious hook, none is as convincing as Queens Of The Stone Age.’
