Showcasing their self-titled debut album released in June, Cigarettes After Sex are embarking on a world tour, and will be stopping in Auckland’s Powerstation for an all-ages show on January 8th.

Formed in 2008 and adored for their signature brand of noir dreampop, Cigarettes After Sex have mastered an intimate sound that evokes nostalgia in the listener (see: Affection). Frontman Greg Gonzalez has also shared that the greatest compliment he has received has been from listeners who have told him his music has helped with their sleep anxiety and “that it’s helping people in some way.”

Cigarettes After Sex are known for their dreamy, atmospheric tracks and compelling live performances. Experiencing the live renditions of tracks like Sunsetz, Apocalypse and John Wayne will undoubtedly result in a captivating evening (and definitely some kind of intense catharsis).

Tickets go on sale at midday Friday, September 29th. More info is available via livenation.co.nz.
