I remember living in England and feeling September creep ever closer as summer drew to a close, listening to We The Kings’ August is Over from their self-titled record on repeat. The nights were getting longer and somehow that song – and the rest of the album for that matter – seemed to encompass everything I was feeling about going back to school for my final year before being propelled into further education. It’s another one of those timeless albums that takes you back to childhood, to innocence, and to a less complicated life.

This year, We The Kings’ self-titled record turned 10 years old, and in January and February, they will be crossing the Atlantic to Australia and New Zealand to play it in full, allowing us to relive our teenage years as recklessly and carefree as we did back then. We’ll finally get to scream back tracks such as Check Yes, Juliet, Skyway Avenue, and This Is Our Town with all the energy we can muster, in a room full of people who love them equally as much.

The tour will kick off at Auckland’s (aptly named) Kings Arms on January 31st, before the band crosses the ditch to do 6 shows across Australia.

The band’s self-titled album is a favourite among fans, and reformed (or, you know, current) emos love a good nostalgia trip, so this show is sure to be a hit. VIP is also available for little more than what you’d expect to pay for general admission at an arena show, and lucky ticket holders will be treated to:

1 x Ticket to the show
1 x Meet & Greet with We The Kings
Exclusive VIP signed poster
Exclusive VIP laminate
Early Entry No Need to Queue
Photo with We The Kings
Fans can bring 1x item to be signed

Tickets to the Auckland show will be available October 17 from NZTix.
