Words by Shelley Te Haara
P!NK last graced us with her presence about 10 years ago, with 2 sold-out shows on her I’m Not Dead World Tour. And since then while she may have evaded NZ, she embarked on quite a few tours which led her to breaking the record in Melbourne, Australia at Rod Laver Arena. This record was broken during her The Truth About Love World Tour, during which she played 18 sold-out shows at the Arena. P!NK will be playing Australia again on her Beautiful Trauma World Tour, before jumping the ditch and playing at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin and Spark Arena in Auckland.
Her new album, which the tour will be supporting, was released on October 13th. Our first teaser of her album was the single What About Us, accompanied by a beautiful video. The single seems to be a response to current affairs in the world and is quite an anthem. Following its release, she received the Video Vanguard award at the MTV VMAs which included a performance of a range of her hits, including the new single. Her incredible acceptance speech was about a conversation she had with her daughter Willow, which reminded everyone to love who they are.
P!NK is not one to put on a boring show with previous tours consisting of aerobatics, dancing, silks, costume changes etc. Tickets go on sale this week and are expected to sell out so get in quick.
