As far as the old-school pop punk fans are concerned, the concept of Simple Plan returning to New Zealand to perform their most iconic album live in full is almost too much to handle.

And yet on April 19th, accompanied by Real Friends and Eat Your Heart Out, that’s exactly what’s going to happen as the band have announced an Australasian leg of the No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls 15th anniversary tour.

The show will take place at Auckland’s Powerstation, a venue favoured among members of the alternative music scene, and will no doubt see plenty of millennials form together as they reminisce over a band that – along with Blink 182 – helped define an entire genre.

“After releasing our 5th album last year and playing more than 100 shows in over 40 countries, we felt it was important to take this opportunity to look back and celebrate the amazing adventure we’ve had as a band and as friends. It felt important to do something special, something we’ve never done before to mark this landmark in our lives. This is why we wanted to do this tour.”

Simple Plan has already set out on this tour over in the US, and reviews are flooding in, with many reviewers having nothing but praise for the band and the fanbase they have created.

This is the only chance Kiwis will get to hear No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls played live in full, and with the current response on social media, there’s no way these tickets will stick around for long.
