Today the New Zealand International  Comedy Festival announced the finalists for the highly coveted Fred Award 2018.

The award is named after Fred Dagg, the quintessentially Kiwi character created by comedy legend John Clarke. The Fred Award has been rewarding local talent since 2006, awarded to the best show in the New Zealand International Comedy Festival performed by New Zealand comedians.

This year’s finalists are:

CAMP BINCH – CHRIS PARKER

HUMBLE – FRICKIN DANGEROUS BRO

NAILED IT! – NICK RADO

HORNDOG – ROSE MATAFEO

These four finalists are performing at Last Laughs on Sunday at Sky City Theatre, along with the Billy T Nominees, the winner of Raw Quest and a surprise international guest. The winners of the Billy T and the Fred are to be awarded at Last Laughs

Last Laughs will be hosted by New Zealand comedy veteran Ben Hurley, an event that is sure to be a fitting conclusion to a downright awesome NZ International Comedy Festival.

Good luck to the finalists to both the Billy T and the Fred, I hope you have good weather conditions.
