Words by Shelley Te Haara

Good Things! That was the teaser we kept getting out of Australia, and while everyone knew a festival announcement was on its way, no one could have expected it to be as insane as it turned out to be!

International band, Palaye Royale were announced first, which was unsurprising as they had already announced that they’re popping over to this side of the world. Then came the announcement that Australian heavyweights Northlane would be joining the lineup. Then, without warning, the full release hit us and our minds were blown.

Good Things Festival will hit Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane this December. It’ll kick off in Melbourne on the 7th December at the Showgrounds, before heading to to Parramatta Park in Sydney on the 8th December and finishing in Brisbane on the 9th December at the Showgrounds. The shows are licensed but also AA (15+), so good news for the younger fans!

The full lineup is as follows:

The Offspring (Performing SMASH in full)
Stone Sour
All Time Low
Dropkick Murphys
Bullet For My Valentine
The Used
The Smith Street Band
Dashboard Confessional (Performing songs from ‘The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most’ + fan favourites)
Mayday Parade
La Dispute
The Wonder Years
Tonight Alive
Palaye Royale
Make Them Suffer
Boston Manor
Void of Vision
Ecca Vandal

Palaye Royal will also be jumping the ditch to play a show on Wednesday 12th December at the wonderful Tuning Fork in Auckland. Let’s hope more bands follow suit!

More information can be found on the Good Things website.
