Tones and I is taking Australia by storm with her fresh blend of indie-pop and she’s about to do the same on this side of the Tasman with her hot new track, ‘Never Seen The Rain.’

The new song follows Tones’ break-out hit ‘Dance Monkey’ and her smash debut single ‘Johnny Run Away,’ which is now officially being taken to radio n New Zealand. These tracks have already hit Gold and Platinum in Australia, with a huge number of streams globally, setting up Tones and I as an international star.

Tones and I caused a storm when she uploaded ‘Johnny Run Away’ to triple j unearthed in February 2019. What followed was an unprecedented buzz from triple j’s top presenters, with the track having its first spin on the Australian broadcaster the same day.

“‘Johnny Run Away’ is about my best friends coming out to his disapproving father at a young age. The song shows people are dealing with judgement and rejection within their own family not to mention the world,” says Tones

A week later ‘Johnny’ was added to high rotation on triple j and shot to number one most played for two weeks straight. Shortly after it was picked by radio stations across the board nationally and raced to ARIA certified gold sales. It’s since been streamed more than 12 million times on Spotify.

Originally from Australia’s Mornington Peninsula, Tones and I journeyed to Byron Bay in early 2018 to take a chance at busking. On the first day she had crowds spilling onto the street, so she quit her retail job and decided to make Byron her new home.

Tones booked her first ever headline shows in Australia, which all sold out within days of announce resulting in multiple dates been added.

Watch Tones and I at splendour in the Grass over the weekend in front of one of the largest opening crowds the festival has seen and her incredible performance of ‘Dance Monkey’ (including crowd sing-along!).

Tones is now gearing up to win over Kiwi audiences too with live plans for New Zealand in the works. Watch this space!
