Spring has sprung and a new season calls for a menu shake up. Herne Bay institution Andiamo is welcoming a host of new dishes, arriving just in time for warmer climes (and long lunch dates).
The Speakeasy team have eaten there recently and let me tell you, it will make you feel as though you’ve been transported to the Mediterranean with menu additions like linguine vongole with little neck clams, riso verde with zucchini flower, crayfish meatball with prawn head bisque or Wakanui beef carpaccio.
Made for sharing, try the burrata with zucchini caponata, sultana and chilli or the light and zingy market fish crudo with salsa verde, baby capers and anchovy. For something more substantial opt for the jumbo prawns with pancetta in puttanesca sauce or the wagyu bavette with aged balsamic, pink peppercorn and panisse (chickpea) chips.
If just after a tipple, pull up a seat in the outdoor dining area and bask in the sunshine with an Aperol Spritz. Saluti!
Andiamo is located at 194 Jervois Road, Herne Bay and is open Tuesday to Friday from 12pm, Saturday and Sunday from 10am and on Monday from 5pm until late
