New Zealand production outfit TRUTH are poised to release their forthcoming EP Without You, their eighth self-release through Pacific-spanning bass music imprint Deep, Dark and Dangerous – the duo’s own label which was founded in 2012.

Reowned for their precise production standards and searing basslines, TRUTH’s Without You EP presents a different flavour for the two-piece, who originally hail from Christchurch. Still closely entwined with the bass-heavy artistry of the dubstep they’re world-reowned for, this five-track, drum & bass inspired EP presents a turning point for the producers, and provides an insight into the progression of TRUTH’s sound since their debut release on Mala’s Deep Medi Musik label in 2009.

The immaculate Without You Ep is contrastingly understated in approach, but this collection again hits the same emotive tones and showcases the painstaking engineering that has become a signature of their craft. Opening track and lead single Pass Me By features lush textures and etherial vocals from NZ artist Lelijveld whilst being underpinned by a heavier backdrop 0 meanwhile cuts like title-track Without You rolls through with cascading breaks. Eyes on Me focuses on segments of percussion and darker moods, whilst the expert drum work of Heartbreak, and the creeping intensity of Miasma brings the EP to a close. It’s a walk through the duo’s vast imaginative scope, and demonstrates the musical diversity TRUTH are truly capable of.

TRUTH celebrate the Without You EP release with a freshly announced spot on the Rhythm & Alps NYE festival bill, and the following live dates. More shows to be announced.

Without You sees TRUTH now stake their claim within the drum & bass world, after establishing themselves internationally to critical acclaim throughout the dubstep scene and beyond. Now Spitting their time between California and Aotearoa, Andrea Fernandex and Tristan Roake’s 11-year career has encompassed international tours, major festival circuits, production, remix and sound design work, with their music additionally finding its way into major television productions such as American Horror Story. Back in New Zealand, TRUTH have received the Best Electronic Artist at the 2017 Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards.
