Auckland-based pop artist, writer and producer Geoff Ong is back with a new single ‘Into Into You‘ – a catchy earworm of a love song, which gives fans a taste of what’s to come on his upcoming album.
‘Into Into You’ is are freshingly honest song, which serves as a reminder of how important it is to stay open, to stay hopeful and to keep loving fearlessly.
“I wanted to write a song that sounds like the feeling of being swept up in a new relationship,” explain Geoff. “A song that runs recklessly into the notion that love is one of the most pure and wonderful things we can experience.”
“I feel like modern dating culture can make us super jaded and cynical. This song was written in deliberate opposition to that phenomenon. LOVE IS REAL – no matter how much that makes me sound like a character from a Disney movie,” he laughs.
‘Into Into You’ follows on from the May release of ‘I Don’t Know’, which is in keeping with Geoff’s knack for penning infectious, hook-laded pop tunes that leave you wanting more. He also turned heads with the song’s DIY video, which he made himself while in lockdown; video below.
Both songs will be on Geoff’s upcoming album, which is set for release later this year. “The album is full of songs, which are emotional in a very honest and authentic way,” says Geoff.
Geoff first made his mark with the release of his 2015 EP BOSTON. He’s gone on to establish himself as an ‘artist to watch’ on the local indie-pop scene, with four songs landing in the top 5 of the Official NZ Music Charts.
