On Monday it was Auckland’s turn to experience the SIX60 feature film, directed by Julia Parnell. The film tells the story of the iconic kiwi bands’ rise to stardom. From humble beginnings on the rugby field, in Otago University dorm rooms, not so great label signings, to headlining TWO sold out Western Springs shows of 50,000 fans.

The film is beautifully directed, with Julia and her team using the bands’ music to interwind with the ups and downs of being SIX60. Through the hard and good times, the team spirit and hunger for greatness bonded them and made them stronger. One could say these roots were formed on rugby field.

It’s no doubt that this film will be a kiwi classic, just like SIX60. Tickets are available for showings in cinema in New Zealand and Australia, grab one and a popcorn so you don’t miss out!
