After tweeting hints for the past few days, Justin Bieber has finally stopped teasing the heck out of us and has announced the Australian and New Zealand leg of his Purpose World Tour.
For the first time ever, we get to see him play in stadiums(!!!)
Presented by Frontier Touring and AEG live, Justin will be playing Auckland’s Mount Smart Stadium with special guest Martin Garrix on the 18th March 2017.
After the not-so-successful Believe World Tour that – due to lack of sales – had Justin merging two shows into one at Auckland’s Vector Arena in 2013, loyal fans have been waiting for his come back. They have stuck with him through his diva moments (and there have been many), allowing him to come back from the questionable actions of the past few years.
And let’s be real it’s the best comeback since Britney Spears shaved off all of her hair in 2007.
This leg of the Purpose World Tour will start on the 6th of March in Perth before making its way down Australia’s East coast and, finally, finishing in Auckland.
Justin has been taunting us since March this year, already having travelled across the US, Canada, and Japan, and is set to hit Europe before finally making his way to us. By the time it ends, there will have been more than 100 shows, meaning almost a million ticket sales globally. Justin’s back. And he’s not doing anything by halves.
“The concert was sublime vocally, visually and musically”
– Rolling Stone
The tour is, obviously, in support of his latest album, Purpose, which has broken eight Guinness World Records in the 2017 version of the book for feats such as audio streaming and YouTube Subscribers. The shows will showcase many of these new tracks for fans, such as 6x Platinum, Love Yourself, 5x Platinum, What Do You Mean, and 4x Platinum, Sorry. That doesn’t mean we’ll be deprived of the old favourites such as Baby and Boyfriend, though, which is a huge relief because who didn’t love being 13 years old and jumping on the bed while painfully shouting the “oooooh” in Baby?
Justin will be joined at every show on this leg by EDM’s youngest superstar Martin Garrix. Haling from Denmark, he burst into the scene at 17-years old and can now call himself a DJ, a record producer, and a musician, consistently sitting at the top of the charts and in ‘DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs’ poll. He’s the perfect support act for Justin, who, after being mentored by Usher at a young age, is in a great place to help his favourite acts gain popularity worldwide.
The tour has a number of tickets available at varying price levels, anything from $79 for a D Reserve seat to $626 for the top VIP ticket. With Frontier Touring pre-sale starting in just 6 days, you might want to dig into that savings account that you’ve been keeping for a rainy day because, unlike in 2013, these tickets are going to fly.
Frontier Members pre-sale runs from Mon 10th October at 2pm until the 11th at 2pm or until allocation is exhausted.
General sale runs from Wednesday 12th October at 2pm local time.
