Send forth your ravens because wine is coming!
With over 100 wines on hand for tasting and a wide range of styles on offer, GAME OF RHONES, the light-hearted day of dress-ups and drinking is returning, is back bigger and thirstier than ever before.
Delightful puns aside, Game of Rhones is a bit special because it offers Auckland punters a wine festival that is a little different – something a bit more fun and engaging than the average wine drinker might be used to.
Those lucky enough to snap up a ticket to the event (get in quick as they’re selling out fast) will be able to sample the classic grape varieties of the Rhone Valley in South France – Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvedre, Viognier, and Marsanne come to mind. The event will also be showcasing quality drops from Australasia’s best vineyards; Babich, Trinity Hill, Man O’ War, and Elephant Hill are just some of the Kiwi producers represented.
Tickets include a commemorative wine glass, a drop of the Epic Plumm Vintage and all wine tastings (no tokens here!). A range of beer, cider and food will also be available for purchase on the day. Dress-up is optional, but why wouldn’t you?
